Unit 1 – P4
This blog
will be about my interpersonal skills and how I feel about them.
When I was
younger, I was quite shy and wouldn’t really want to talk to anybody, but when
I made more friends I became more confident when speaking. I feel as if I am
slightly confident but I have my weaknesses. Here are some of my strengths that
I have.
Teamwork:
I feel as if I am good at working in a team and around
others, I prefer to do the role of supplying the information for the group, for
example searching up some information on the history of Rome. I feel as if this
is one of my interpersonal skills because working in a team is more effective
and efficient than someone working independently. Working in a team gets tasks
done quicker and may be a higher quality as you would have more knowledge as a
team. Working as a team is important because it can create creativity and can
give the group a good atmosphere and vibe. The other people in the group can
help me with what I was doing which could make me a better learner. They can
input effort into the group work and the work can go faster. With the group
helping me, they will most probably be friendly so I would be more confident
speaking to them as I would like them as friends. This would increase my
confidence a bit as I wouldn’t be scared to talk to them.
Time-Management:
I feel as if I sometimes have good time management and
sometimes it is not so good, mostly good than bad. I submit almost all work
before the deadline, with a few exceptions when I have problems doing the work
or personal problems, if I have no problems with distractions or anything then
I can do the work well and fairly quickly. Sometimes I can get help with time
management, for example somebody telling me a deadline and then I fix a
schedule around that deadline, giving me free time in the day and time to do
the work. With the free time I could either play video games or plan a new
timetable for work. By making a new work timetable, it allows me to know when I
need to do work and when I can do whatever. As my time-management is good I
will know when the deadlines for assignments are, this means that I know how
much work I need to do a day and if I’m going to finish early or on time.
Leadership:
I feel as if I am a decent leader but still better as a
supporting role. If the leader of a group isn’t in then I would volunteer to
step in for them. I have good leadership skills because I can talk to people
well and not be scared or nervous, I can give them commands or ask them to do
any tasks that need doing. I could either be a captain in a football team or
lead a group of people to do some group work. Being a good leader is important
so that if you ever get a promotion in a job to being somebody’s boss, you will
want to have the skill to boss somebody around and not be told what to do.
Organisation:
I feel as if I have good organisation skills, I can keep a
clear working space, enabling me room to work, I can put paper on the table
with plenty of space for my arms without being uncomfortable, this means that
my work would be the highest quality because I can be normal with it instead of
being squished and having to rush it. Having good organisational skills is
important because in a working environment you will need to keep stuff clear
and clean. This benefits you and everyone else around you and makes the place
look like a much better working environment.
Motivation:
Having good motivation to work is important in a work space
because if you are not motivated to work then you will probably not want to work,
meaning that you will get nothing done and you would probably get sacked. I
have good motivation to do work because I know that at the end of it I can get
a reward for my work, such as my school work, when I finish all my school work
and pass my course, I will get a certificate at the end certifying that I
passed or what grade I got in the course, this then enables me to go out into
the real world and get a job for years, having a good job is important because
you will most probably get a good income and will be able to supply a family
with plenty of food and maybe give them a nice place to live.
